Why Did HealthMarkets® Change Its Name?
Answer
The name change from UICI to HealthMarkets was intended to better reflect the industry the Company serves and to begin building a recognizable brand in the marketplace, something that would have been more difficult with the previous company name.
While the name of the holding company changed, the names of the insurance companies that are owned by HealthMarkets and that underwrite the insurance products have not changed.
